  1. Originally, Chuck E. Cheese was designed to be a coyote, not a mouse. The character was first created by Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari, for his concept of a pizza parlor combined with an arcade, which later became Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre.

When Bushnell's team was brainstorming the mascot for the brand, they initially chose a coyote because of its association with wildness and fun. However, after a bit of refining and feedback, they decided to make Chuck E. Cheese a mouse instead, because they thought it would be more family-friendly and appealing to children. A mouse is also a more classic, whimsical character, and it fit better with the playful, animated world of Chuck E. Cheese.

The mouse design became iconic, and the rest, as they say, is history! Chuck E. Cheese became one of the most well-known children's entertainment franchises in the U.S., with its games, pizza, and animatronic shows. Pretty fun to think about how different the brand could have been with a coyote as its mascot.
