If daylight saving time was supposed to be permanent starting in 2023, why did we still turn clocks back in November?

  1. Haha yeah, I was confused about that too! So back in 2022, there was a lot of buzz about the U.S. making daylight saving time permanent starting in 2023; the Senate even passed something called the Sunshine Protection Act. But here’s the thing: it never made it through the House, so it didn’t actually become law. That’s why we still ended up turning the clocks back in November like always. Kinda disappointing honestly, especially for those of us who hate it getting dark at like 5 PM. Hopefully they revisit it again, because the switch messes with so many people’s sleep and mood
