  1. The short answer is: they’re looking for a warm place to chill out during colder months, and your house is basically a five-star hotel to them. They sneak in through little cracks around windows, doors, vents, or even through your attic or chimney. Once inside, they find cozy spots in walls or ceilings and just hang out until spring.

They’re not nesting or multiplying indoors—they’re just hiding. But when the weather warms up or your heat kicks on, they start moving around, which is why you suddenly see them crawling on your windows or walls.

    To cut down on them:

Seal up entry points (check windows, baseboards, siding, etc.)

    Replace or fix torn screens

Use a vacuum to remove them (don’t squish them—they stink for a reason)

If you're really dealing with a swarm, a pest control pro can help pinpoint the main entry spots

It’s not that your house is dirty or anything, they’re just really good at finding their way in.
