    Helen Reddy's first marriage is such a fascinating little footnote in her story! Kenneth Weate was actually her manager early on; they married in 1961 when she was just 19. From what I've read, it seemed like a classic "young love + career ambitions" situation. They had a son together (Traci, who later became her drummer), but the marriage only lasted five years. Makes you wonder how much of it was partnership vs. the pressures of her rising stardom
