If I could erase one event from history, it would probably be World War II, the immense suffering, loss of life, and destruction it caused was devastating on a scale hard to fathom. Erasing it could mean preventing the Holocaust, massive civilian casualties, and countless tragedies.
That said, it also shaped so much of the modern world, so it’s a complicated thought.
If I could erase just one event, it would probably be the transatlantic slave trade. The scale of pain, loss, and generational trauma it caused is beyond words. Entire cultures were uprooted, lives destroyed, and the effects are still felt today in so many ways. Erasing it wouldn’t just change history—it would rewrite the future for millions of people across continents. It’s one of those wounds humanity never fully healed from, and removing it might’ve given the world a more just and equal foundation to build on.
